Press Release
Participation Motives of Online Panellists:
Dr. Thomas Rodenhausen, Dr. Gwen Kaufmann and Dr. Adriane Hartmann of
MediaTransfer AG Netresearch & Consulting present results from a study at
the GOR 2007.
Hamburg, 2. March 2007 – The online market research community
gets together at the annual General Online Research (GOR) conference 26. – 28.
March 2007. The ninth international conference takes place in Leipzig, Germany.
The GOR is the intersection and platform for discussion of academic and
professional online market research. The spectrum of topics ranges from
methodological contributions concerning online data collection techniques to
presentations regarding current and classical online market research issues.
At the GOR 2007 MediaTransfer AG Netresearch & Consulting will present a
study on the motivation to participate in online panels. "The recruitment
of online panellists becomes harder. Thus it is necessary to understand, why
people participate in online panels", states Dr. Thomas Rodenhausen, Head
of market research at MediaTransfer AG Netresearch & Consulting. "This
is the only way to ensure high response rates and a good quality of online
surveys."
The results of the study show, that panelists participate not just for the
money. The monetary motivation is indeed vital but curiosity and the ambition to
help manufactures to make better products is also important. Additional results
will be presented at the GOR.
